Key Steps for F1 H1B Visa

F-1 Student Visa (10 Steps)

Choose a SEVP-certified university/program (STEM preferred).
Take exams : IELTS/TOEFL + SAT/GRE if required.
Get admitted and receive I-20 .
Pay SEVIS fee ($350).
Complete DS-160 form online.
Book visa interview (US Embassy Dhaka).
Prepare finances (show 1st-year tuition + living costs).
Attend interviews (carry I-20, passport, docs).
Receive visa (3-5 days post-approval).
Maintain status (full-time enrollment, apply for OPT/CPT).

H-1B Work Visa (10 Steps)

Secure job offer in a specialty occupation (e.g., IT, engineering).
Employer files LCA (Labor Condition Application).
Enter the H-1B lottery (March deadline).
Submit petition (Form I-129) if selected.
Wait for USCIS processing (3-6 months; premium: 15 days).
Get approval (I-797 notice).
